A face for audio.

It’s been about 1400 hours since I last posted on this blog. Where have I been? For at least 10 of those hours I was enclosed in a claustrophobia-inducing recording cube narrating the audio version of Follow the Meander. Remember when Alice in Wonderland ate the cake that made her grow through the roof? That’s how I felt in this cubby - and, I’m not a big guy. Still, it was worth it - I hope. When my last book came out, the publisher had some automaton narrate the Audible version. I would rather pierce my eardrums with kabob skewers than listen to that soporific droning. So, I vowed to do this one myself. Turns out, it’s not that easy to read aloud non-stop for 2 five-hour stretches. Can you say “hyperventilation”? Actually, after ten hours I couldn’t even say that. The finished edit comes back to me tomorrow. Here’s hoping that I sound better than television static. Just in case, do me a favor…hide the kabob skewers.
